Welcome to the blog!
Tina is going to invite each new member to be an author on the blog, so that we will each have the opportunity to share our thoughts.
Tell us about yourself! We want each author to write a quick introduction, so I will go first.
I am Janna Smith. I am super excited about reading through the NIV Chronological Bible during 2010. I am currently serving with the IMB and have spent the last year learning Spanish. Tomorrow morning I am flying to Mexico to begin the "real work" of a missionary. I love to tell people about Jesus, but I am a little nervous about the adventure that lies ahead.

ReplyDeleteI am Leigh Barwick. I am a high school and I am really looking forward to reading the Bible in its entirety during 2010. My prayer is that God will open my eyes to what He wants me to see in His Word. Holy boldness is my New Year's Resolution and I am praying that God's Word will re-energize me as needed.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am Latrelle Cone. My husband David and I are parents to 5 boys and missionaries with Christain Light Foundation. I am so excited to be a part of this kind of online Bible study for 2010!! I pray that this commitment will hold us accountable to each other to finish the drill and not give up when life gets busy!! I pray like Leigh for Holy Boldness and that whether we are going across the street or around the world that we can boldly share the love of Jesus with all :)
Hello, I am Lori (Mills). God has had me in the wilderness for the past few years where He has taught me to rely on Him like never before. Suffering is no fun, and it is worse to see your children suffering. Yet, God has been faithful to supply all our needs, and He has never forsaken us. I am looking forward to walking into the Promised Land in 2010, and see my mission this coming year to be ministering to my children and strengthening their faith. I believe God has a plan for my life, and I'm excited to see how He reveals it to me one step at a time. I look forward to getting to know all of you and reading through the Bible together. I am convinced that I could not have survived the wilderness without my Godly sisters who have walked through it with me. Thank you. I am excited to have such a great accountability group to help me through the struggles of this next phase of my life. I pray that in ten years we will look back fondly upon this time that God put us together, and see how He used each of us to bring many into His Kingdom and touch the world with the love of Jesus!
ReplyDeleteHi I am Mary Sell. I have four kids, ages 15, 8, 6 and almost 6. We are currently in Costa Rica, but will be moving to Honduras on Dec. 21. I am so excited for this opportunity to study God's word with people around the world! He never ceases to amaze me when He lays before me exactly what I need.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Penny Smith. I live in Leakesville, MS. I am a kindergarten special ed teacher. I am married to Hardy Smith and we have two boys, Landon and Logan. I am really excited about this journey. My dear friend, Lorinda, bought our books today. Thanks, Janna, for the invite. Love you, friend.
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so encouraged by the group of ladies that the Lord has assembled already. I have landed in Leon, Mexico and after just a couple of days I already need accountability! A new schedule or a time of transition is always a hard time to be faithful to daily Bible reading and prayer. We are so much more vulnerable to attack during those times that we need our daily dose of God's word more than ever. So, I'm logging off and opening my Bible.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Stephanie Sharp and first I must address how ridiculous my profile picture looks. I can't figure out how to get it right, so I apologize. I'm not so grainy in real life. Anyway, I live in Thomasville, GA, with my husband, Josh, daughter, Julia (who will be 2 in a few days), and Cocker Spaniel, Bella. I am a stay at home mom, and find that it is difficult for me to stay on track and have a consistent quiet time. I am very excited about having this community and accountability to keep me in the Word!!!
ReplyDeleteHi...I am Kim Byrd and my family and I are currently in Costa Rica learning Spanish so that we may serve the people in Puebla, Mexico. I am excited about going through the bible with my sisters in Christ.
ReplyDeleteHi guys! My name is Stacy and I'm living in a small Indian town in Southern Mexico. My teammate and I are putting about 27 Bible stories into an Indian language and we've got less than a year left on the field. I have never read through the whole Bible in a year, so this is exciting and will be such amazing accountability for me. It'll help keep me focused on Jesus being the center of my life and will give all of us new friends and family to learn from & share things with. I can't wait!
