Someone to watch over me

I felt today like I could really relate to Job. It seems that currently I have looked everywhere for God, but I don't always see him. Job said "if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north I do not see him; when he turns to the south I catch no glimpse of him" (Job 23:8-9). There have been times presently when I have called out to God for help, instruction, clarity, etc. but I have not heard from Him or felt His presence. HOWEVER, as Job said, "he knows the ways that I take; when he has tested me I will come forth as gold" (Job 23:10). I love the fact that even when we don't see God, He always sees us. I find such strength in knowing that the challenges that I am facing are ways that God refines me and makes me like gold. My prayer is that God will open my eyes so that I can see more clearly the plans that He has for me. He's always here, I just need to trust. In the end I want to be like gold.

    I know what you're saying Leigh. My heart breaks for you and your family and the stress ya'll are under right now. I am praying for you all. I want to come out of my trials like gold too. Unfortunately, when the fire got hot some pretty nasty stuff boiled up in me that had to be burned up. Painful as it is, it's worth it to know God more. Let me tell you, I know God is with you because He shines so brightly through you. You don't have all the yucky stuff in you that I do. I don't want to know where I'd be if it weren't for you, Tina, Tresa, and Kellie. I so wish I could fix it all for you, friend, and reduce ya'lls stress. If Publisher's Clearing House calls, I'll let you know! I can tell you some verses that have helped me:
    Psalm 22:24 "For He has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned His back on them, but has listened to their cries for help."
    Psalm 63:7-8 "Because You are my Helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. I cling to You; Your right hand holds me securely."
